'Star Wars: Episode 8' spoilers: Fans slam 'fake' plot leak
Fans are slamming a plot “leak” of “Star Wars: Episode 8” for being “fake.” The leak referred to the move featuring a scene that reveals the origins of the Sith and the Jedi, and how that connects to the prophecy of The One and Rey.
[Spoiler alert]
A previous report by Stormtrooper Larry revealed that the upcoming movie will show a scene in which Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will show Rey (Daisy Ridley) a scene from the past. The scene reveals how the first Force users in the galaxy were children on a remote planet, sitting under a mysterious tree. The boy becomes Sith and the girl forms the first Jedi Order in the flashback scene.
Talking about the post on Reddit, some of the fans felt that the information was “fake.” While a section of the fans expressed their dissatisfaction with this unverified leak, others advised people not to jump to conclusions quickly.
Before “The Force Awakens” released, there were a lot of leaks from Making Star Wars website, which is also now releasing spoilers for “Star Wars: Episode 8.” However, the site was initially met with a lot of skepticism and many refused to believe the plot points released by the website.
However, most of the leaks from the site proved to be right, and the website established itself as a credible source. Fans point out that Stormtrooper Larry seems to be going through the same initial phase of disbelief by the fans.
The post, however, has generated a lot of interest in the fan base. Some think that this new back story of Rey being The One from the Jedi prophecy is much better than reports that say that Rey is the reincarnation of Darth Vader.
It remains to be seen which leak turns out to be true when “Star Wars: Episode 8” is released. The movie is set to be released on Dec. 15, 2017 in Australia.
