'Star Wars: Episode 8' theory: Supreme Leader Snoke's history and plan
Very little is known about Supreme Leader Snoke, and more details about the character’s history are expected to be revealed in “Star Wars: Episode 8.” A new theory about the character looks at his background and possible plan.
[Spoiler alert]
A new video posted on the YouTube channel of Mike Zeroh begins with a clip from the audio book “Star Wars: Dark Empire.” Although the book is no longer canon, there is still the possibility of some story elements being borrowed from the Legends material.
Mike points out that Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) is a very scarred figure. Fans have speculated these scars to be the result of a lightsaber battle or a Force lightning attack. Some have also speculated the character to be Darth Plagueis.
The theory points out how Emperor Palpatine was able to achieve immortality by learning to transfer his essence into a clone. Talking about Snoke’s plan in “Star Wars: Episode 8,” the video also points out how weak the character was towards the end of “The Force Awakens.” Is the leader of the First Order nearing the end of his life cycle and preparing to transfer his essence into a new body?
Snoke has lived for a very long time, and knows about the events during the time of the Empire. The theory suggests that the character may have changed bodies over the years. Mike suggests that it is possible that Snoke may have taken over the body of Darth Plagueis, so the fan theories may be partially right.
As far as Snoke’s plan in “Star Wars: Episode 8” is concerned, Mike suggests that it may be possible that the leader of the First Order has been keenly watching Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) since his childhood in order to one day take over his body through the process of essence transfer. According to the theory, Kylo will find out about this plan and rebel.
