'Star Wars: Episode 8' theory: Tone of film on Ahch-To
The main characters in “Star Wars: Episode 8” are expected to spend a lot of time on the planet Ahch-To. A new theory looks at what to expect in these scenes in terms of the tone.
[Spoiler alert]
Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) was finally found on the planet of Ahch-To in “The Force Awakens.” It was Rey (Daisy Ridley) who took his old lightsaber to him in the final scene. The next movie is expected to pickup from right where the J.J. Abrams film left off.
So, Luke and Rey will be on Ahch-To at least in the beginning of the next film. It is still not clear why the old Jedi Master is there on that particular planet and what he is doing. If the First Jedi Temple is located on this planet, then the two characters may spend considerable amount of time here. Besides, Rey’s training to becoming a Jedi is also expected to begin in “Star Wars: Episode 8.”
Since a lot of time will be spent on Ahch-To, a new theory on the YouTube channel of Mike Zeroh looks at what to expect here in terms of the tone. Mike believes there will be different tones in the movie, and each group of characters will have their own tone. The villains such as the Knights of Ren, Kylo Ren (Adam driver) and Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) will get a dark tone and the Rebels such as Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and Finn (John Boyega) will get an adventurous tone.
As far as the tone of Luke Skywalker and Rey in “Star Wars: Episode 8” is concerned, Mike believes that it will be similar to the one seen in the film “Cast Away.” So, the fans will get to hear the wind, the waves crashing on rocks and other sights and sounds that have to do with nature.
