'Star Wars: Episode 9': More confirmation of Lando's return
Bill Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) may be currently busy training to reprise his role in the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode 9” movie. The actor was scheduled to participate in the Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo, but he will be skipping the event, which has led to the fans wondering about his filming schedule.
According to a report by ComicBook.com, an announcement by the organisers of the convention states that Williams will be skipping the event because of a “film schedule conflict.” The actor has sent his regrets and hopes to meet the fans at the same event next year.
Since the actor hasn’t announced being a part of any movies that are currently filming, the one he is working on may be “Star Wars: Episode 9.” The cast members of the film are expected to have begun their physical training, and this may be what Williams may be doing too.
With the main characters from the original trilogy dead, and the passing of Carrie Fisher (Leia), Lando is the only one left. It is not clear if the actor’s casting was a decision taken after the passing of Fisher, which may have prompted the actor to change his schedule.
This isn’t the first time that Williams’ name has come up about him reprising his role. The actor has already leant his voice to the animated version of his character in the “Rebels” TV series. There also have been reports of him being cast in the upcoming movie.
Williams skipping the Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo further confirms that he may have been cast in the movie. The confirmation of his casting may come after the producers start announcing the cast members of the film.
Filming of “Star Wars: Episode 9” is expected to begin soon. JJ Abrams will be returning in the director’s chair, along with cast members Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron).
