Open auditions for Star Wars Episode VII was recently held in Bristol, South West England Nov. 9-10 drawing hundreds of wannabees who flocked in droves.

The open auditions for the Star Wars film were conducted at the Arnolfini - Centre for Contemporary Arts in Bristol from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The casting call was tweeted by Claire Curry of @UKopencall.

She also posted other details about the auditions, including Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) such as age requirement (boys: 18 years and above, no exceptions; girls: must be 16 years and above) and what to bring (headshot).

According to the document posted by Curry on Twitter, Disney is looking for two characters, a young woman to play Rachel, a 17 to 18 years old female character and Thomas, a 19 to 23 years old male character.

Rachel is described as street-smart and strong lady with a sense of humor despite being orphaned at a young age. Disney and Lucasfilm are reportedly looking for a young woman who is beautiful, smart and athletic. Ethnicity doesn't matter because it is open to all, even to bi- and multi-racial people.

Thomas is a young man who grew up without a father. He is smart, capable and courageous but doesn't take life too seriously. The producers are looking for a young man who is handsome, smart and athletic.

People who lined up for the auditions couldn't resist the chance to be part of the next Star Wars film.

"This is something I grew up with and it's massive - it's a massive deal," Ben Millier said to BBC News Bristol.

"You can't not audition for this if you're in the age range, if you fit it, because it's just a big deal," he added.

"If there was the slightest chance. It's all worth it no matter how long you have to queue for," Alex Rambo said to BBC News Bristol.

Some people complained of being turned away because there were too many people to allowed in the auditions area.

"Two young people I know set off to these auditions this morning but were turned away as there were too many people and the queue had been shut down," Anna Brown relayed to BBC News Bristol.

"Sorry but that is appalling, " she added.

After the Bristol open auditions, other casting sessions will be conducted across the UK and Ireland. The next schedule would be Nov. 16-17 and it will be held simultaneously in Manchester and Glasgow from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Then, auditions will be held again in London and Dublin at the same time, from Nov. 23-24 at 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. No venue announced yet, but interested participants are advised to check UK Open Call's Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled for released in December 2015. It will be directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams of "Lost," "Alias" and the new "Star Trek" films. Star Wars: Episode VII will soon begin shooting at the Pinewood Studios near London.
