‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Fans React To ‘Black Stormtrooper’ In The Trailer
There was a lot of excitement among fans with the release of the first trailer of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." There were some fans who were concerned about the new elements shown in the movie and the hashtag "BlackStormTrooper" started trending on Twitter.
The trending topic of the actor John Boyega playing the role of a Stormtrooper got some swift reactions by the others defending the actor. Some fans also joked that the character should not be the first to die in the movie. The actor responded to the fans by saying "Get used to it." on his Instagram account.
But some of the fans may be concerned about J.J. Abrams ignoring the storyline of the franchise. It has been revealed in the previous movies that the clone army was built using the genes of a bounty hunter named Jango Fett. The role was played by the actor Temuera Morrison in the movies and the actor has brown skin.
The question fans have on their mind is if all the clones look like Jango Fett, how can John Boyega play the role in "Star Wars : The Force Awakens"? Fans answer that by saying that it is not unprecedented, pointing to the animation series of the franchise. So the trending topic "BlackStormTrooper" may have been started by someone not too familiar with the franchise as a whole.
Fans also point to multiple other possibilities like the empire choosing a new donor for a new bath of clones or starting to recruit people from the general populace for the army. There is also the possibility that John Boyega may not be playing a Stormtrooper in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and may just be wearing the uniform just as Han Solo did in one of the movies.
Most of the fans are excited to see John Boyega in the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer and want people to judge the actor on his performance in the movie. It may however all depend on how J.J. Abrams decides to treat the storyline and ensure that there is continuity from the previous movies. Are the fans who started the topic "BlackStormTrooper" concerned about the story? Or are there other reasons for their concern? Please leave your comments below.
