‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens' final trailer: Scenes that hint Darth Vader as a deity to Kylo Ren [Watch Video]
The final official trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was released on Monday, gave fans a lot to ponder on about the film’s plotline. It reportedly also gave several Easter Eggs if one is patient enough to go through all the scenes. A recent report likewise noted the scenes that suggest the villain Darth Vader is treated as some kind of god or deity among the First Order officers including Kylo Ren.
Although Darth Vader has long been killed in “Return of the Jedi” some 30 years past, he is reportedly still referenced in the new film. He is regarded as some kind of a deity among the Imperial officers, according to Cinema Blend. There were also previous rumours of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) idolising the sith villain in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Now some light was shed on these rumours based on the scenes in the movie's final official trailer.
One of the scenes show the black-robed and masked Kylo Ren in possession of Darth Vader’s melted helmet. As the camera focuses on the helmet, fans learned the villain’s main purpose and that’s to continue Darth Vader’s works. Kylo Ren is heard in the background saying, “Nothing will stand in our way. I will finish what you started.” (Scroll down to watch the scene at the 0:51 time stamp.)
Cinema Blend claimed the formation of the First Order in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is in itself influenced by Darth Vader with Kylo Ren as their leader. Even though the evil sith is long dead, he is still regarded as an inspiration for the Imperial soldiers to plan a new attack against the Rebel warriors.
Movie director J.J. Abrams previously described Kylo Ren during an interview and said the villain is not a sith so his powers does not equate to Darth Vader. However, another scene in the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” final trailer shows Kylo doing something Dark Force-like to Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). (See video below at the 1:03 time stamp)
Regardless, Abrams said the First Order in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was created to make sure the Empire continues to carry out what Darth Vader has started.
