'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' footage reveals new look at First Order Stormtroopers
A footage for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” shows a new look at the First Order Stormtroopers. The short video which was initially released in Korea shows the villain troop on the new snowy planet.
The official YouTube channel for Star Wars Korea has released a brand new TV spot for “The Force Awakens.” The video is basically a combination of the scenes released in the two previous film trailers. However, rather than seeing Finn, played by John Boyega, waking up on the desert sands of Planet Jakku, the Korean TV spot opens with the First Order Stormtroopers gathered for a military rally.
Accompanied by Andy Serkis’ voice over saying “There has been an awakening,” the footage reveals a new angle of the First Order Stormtrooper rally seen in the second teaser released for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The video below at the 1:13 time mark only gives a slight glimpse of the villains and a very tiny image of someone dressed in a black robe standing on a platform behind the Stormtroopers.
However, the Korean TV spot shows a long and somewhat detailed look at the First Order Stormtroopers. Starwars7news shared a screengrab taken from the footage to reveal some new details about the film. The site points at a new walker seen on the right side of the footage that reportedly shows a resemblance to the All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE) used in the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy. A new landing craft is also seen on the left.
Furthermore, the footage reveals a clearer look at the officials standing on the balcony. Captain Phasma, played by Gwendoline Christie, is said to be the person wearing a silver helmet and a black cape. She is accompanied by four of the First Order officials and two Stormtroopers.
Jason Ward from Making Star Wars says there would be a scene in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” where Finn would hold a meeting with the Rebels to help them plan their attack against the First Order Stormtroopers. This sequence will reportedly show Finn explaining how the Rebel fighters can take down the First Order Fortress on the snow planet and where he explains to them the “Catapult,” believed to be the First Order’s ultimate weapon.
