'Star Wars: The Force Awakens': J.J. Abrams Says Directing The Film Was A 'Terrifying And Intense' Experience
J.J. Abrams has opened up about the pressures of directing the highly anticipated film, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." He confessed during his recent appearance at the red carpet of the National Board of Review that all the attention that he is getting from the fans has left him "nearly terrified."
He admitted that though making "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was an intense experience, it was indeed a great opportunity. "I'm more excited about the work that everyone has done in the movie and the incredible cast," he said to MTV. Abrams also feels that there "was a sort of weird buzz in the air" when the film was being shot. However, he and his team have reportedly worked hard to make the film "worth of people's time."
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the first instalment of the rebooted franchise. The first teaser trailer of the film reportedly broke the Internet. The film has also surpassed the popularity of films like "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Jurassic World," according to Cinema Blend. Abrams did not spill any details about the release of more footage, though it is expected that fans may get to see a sneak peek at the "Star Wars" Celebration event in April. The filming of the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" took place in Abu Dhabi and Iceland, and the principal photography took place in Ireland and Pinewood Studios in England. The film is slated to be released on Dec. 18, 2015.
