‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens': Kira As Lady Lumiya, Leia And Hoth Rebel Soldier In Leaked Costume Photos
Ahead of the teaser release for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on Friday, Nov. 28, new concept photos for Daisy Ridley's "Kira" has been leaked. It's believed these images reveal how the character will look in her Tatooine costume.
Jason Ward over at Makingstarwars claims he's seen concept photos of two of Kira's Tatooine costumes in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." According to Ward, the first photo shows Kira totally covered up from head to foot. She wears a brown and dirty head wrap that's reminiscent of the Sith Lady Lumiya's head cover. However, she wears googles over the wrappings and a grey neck piece. The cut of her brown coat is believed to be similar to the Hoth Rebel soldiers' costume. Additionally, Ward claims her boots with shin guards is reminiscent of Leia's disguise in "Return of the Jedi."
What's supposedly interesting with her first Tatooine costume is the addition of a human-size basket she carries like a backpack. The basket is lined with cloth; however, the contents cannot be seen. Ward claims Kira's first costume makes her look poor and not powerful.
The second costume of the new hero for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" reportedly points back to an old photo leaked by TMZ. Kira is still covered from head to toe but this time she wears a blue-coloured poncho that has a cape attached to it. Her head is no longer covered with the Lady Lumiya-style head wrap but with a square cowl that reportedly has a hat brim to it.
Additionally, Ward claims she has on ankle wrappings reminiscent of what the young Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker wore in Tatooine. The concept photo also reveals blue baggy pants and a tan undershirt which Ward supposed covers her main costume. There is no basket this time but a backpack consisting of what Ward believed to be a periscope with its shape that curves over her head.
Sources told Jason Ward Kira's costumes will be used as her disguise during the opening sequences of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Ward supposed she even uses them to scare away the scavengers aiming for John Boyega's possessions following his crash in Tatooine. According to the International Business Times, these scavengers ride mechanical mounts about the size of a buffalo. They "do not look friendly" and allegedly even look like Embo from "The Clone Wars."
