'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' movie costumes for Halloween 2015 are gaining popularity
Costumes of Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn and the new Stormtroopers from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” are being sold in Australia and the U.S. for Halloween 2015. The costumes for both kids as well as for adults are available in the market.
The forthcoming release of the J.J. Abrams movie has led to a renewed interest in the franchise and its associated merchandise. Thanks to the marketing efforts for the new movie, some of the costumes and other merchandise from the previous movies of the franchise are also selling well.
“ Since ‘Star Wars’ introduced the new characters on Force Friday, we've seen not only an increase in search on the website for the new ‘Star Wars’ characters, but the older ones are selling better than ever. I think this trend will continue all the way up until the premiere of Episode 7, especially since more and more people are dressing up for movie premieres now,” said a spokesperson from Wholesale Halloween Costumes in the U.S.
Talking about the trend in the costumes market, the spokesperson explained that characters from movies like “Star Wars,” “Batman,” “Superman” and “Avengers” are “usually evergreen and always popular.” However, she added that when there is a new movie that is about to be released “there is a definite increase” in the sales. Halloween 2015 will be celebrated on Saturday. Apart from the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and other movie costumes that can be bought at stores, people also try and make their own costumes.
