The first trailer of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" showed that the new villain wields a red lightsaber, which is traditionally the weapon of the Sith. Will the Sith make a comeback in the movie? A new report talks about how the dreaded villains of the galaxy can return. [Warning: Spoiler Alert!]

The last two known Sith in the galaxy in the previous movies were Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. The multiple books and comics that were released after the movies have been deemed non-canon, so the villains from the novels and fan favourite characters like Jacen Solo and Mara Jade may never be seen in the movies.

The new novels and comics from the franchise have been deemed canon, and some of the elements from the recently launched literature from the franchise may have some clues about what to expect in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." A new report from MakingStarWars speculates which elements from the novels can cross over to the movies.

According to the report, Sith shrines and artefacts may play an important role in the upcoming movie. The report examines the novel "Tarkin" to look for clues that support this possibility. One notable factor in the book reportedly talks about the Jedi Temple at Coruscant being built over an ancient Sith shrine.

The dark power of the Sith shrine is said to have had an effect on the Jedi in the temple above with the dark power seeping upwards. This points to the possibility that certain objects and places will have a heavy dark side influence. The report further strengthens the rumours that the new villain in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is hunting for ancient Sith artefacts.

Will the new villain in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" find his way to the dark side with the help of Sith artefacts? The producers have not confirmed that the red lightsaber-wielding figure in the trailer is in fact a Sith. Based on the previous movies, there have always been two Sith lords at any given time, a master and an apprentice. Will the master remain unseen in the movie, hiding in a Sith shrine?
