‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’: Tatooine Village On Fire, The Wickermans And John Boyega ‘Not’ A Stormtrooper—Report
The recently released teaser trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" show several scenes that supposedly linked all previous leaked movie sequences; the burning village in Tatooine, for one. Likewise, a report doubts John Boyega is really a Stormtrooper because of his height.
Jason Ward over at Makingstarwars have pieced together previously leaked scenes for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with the sequences revealed from the teaser. However, Ward cautioned these are still speculations based on "factual bits" from the trailer.
The teaser reveals a drop-ship filled with Stormtroopers, which Ward supposed is on course to Tatooine. Although this assertion is not clearly depicted on the trailer, Ward adds that the Imperial soldiers are led by a "Sith" as they head to a village in the desert to burn it to the ground. This "Sith" is said to be the villain holding the cross guard lightsaber seen near the end of the teaser. However, the Stormtroopers are soon met with resistance coming from the village, so they reinforce the flamethrowers.
According to the International Business Times, this resistance is believed to be the Wickermans as they fire back at the Stormtroopers with their sniper rifles. The site describes the Wickermans as "scary-looking aliens with "white, skeletal, black eye sockets with little pin points or eyes." Additionally, the village under attack supposedly resembles the village from the photo leaked by Cinelinx.
According to Ward, John Boyega objects to the village being burned down, and "seeing his friends die," decides to steal a TIE Fighter to escape. However, his ship was eventually gunned down so he was "forced to eject."
Following the crash, he then wakes up on the desert as seen from the teaser of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Scavengers supposedly start to ascend on the wrecked ship and Ward claims Boyega is "screwed" and "scared" since the Imperials are coming to kill him for deserting the troops. Fortunately, the burning TIE Fighter catches the attention of Daisy Ridley's Kira and she rescues the Stormtrooper from the wreckage. Both team up to search for the "Sith" since, according to Ward, he aims to burn down Kira's bid station. Ward adds that "the two are now working together for a mutual advantage and survival," so they board the Millennium Falcon to escape Tatooine.
However, Ward also doubts John Boyega is really a Stormtrooper in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Although the teaser shows him in the soldier's costume, his real height allegedly contradicts his role. Ward believes the character should be represented by a tall actor, one who is at least 6 ft. tall and Boyega only stands at 5'9". Ward thinks the actor is "a little short for a Stormtrooper; well below average" even. Rumoured Stormtroopers Adam Driver and Gwendolyn Christie are past six feet tall. Driver is 6 feet and 2 inches tall while Christie towers at 6 feet and 3 inches.
