‘Star Wars Journeys’ to Promote Episode 7 - Interactive Story Telling App to Focus on Next Generation of Fans [Watch Trailer]

The stakes are high for the upcoming "Star Wars" Episode 7 movie. It will be the first movie of the popular franchise after Disney's takeover of Lucasfilm, the creators of "Star Wars." The new interactive story telling app may be aimed at building a strong fan base among youngsters and create a buzz for the upcoming movie.

The first app lets the user get immersed in the world of "Star Wars" Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. The app allows the user to get a 180 degree parallax view and infinite zoom as they browse through the story line scene by scene.

Viewers can explore character profiles and exotic beasts found in the "Star Wars" universe. The main story line segment of the app has the characters deliver actual dialogues found in the movie, when the character is clicked.

The main element of "Star Wars Journeys" is the pod racing. Users will need to enter pod racing in order to unlock content in the app and more content to be unlocked gets discovered as the user goes through the story line and explores the scene for hidden objects.

"Star Wars" Episode 7 will be released on December 18, 2015. The newly released apps may be aimed at creating a strong fan following among the younger generation. The franchise already has a tremendous fan following worldwide, people have enjoyed the movies released in the late 1970s and early 80s and the most recent trilogy which had the last movie Revenge of the Sith released in 2005.

"Star Wars Journeys" can be played on iOS devices like iPhones and iPads, users playing the game using some of the older versions of iOS devices like the iPad 3 have not complained of any lag during game play.

In the coming months more content will be released focusing on the rest of the "Star Wars" movies - Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

The new app may not only familiarise the younger generation with the "Star Wars" universe and build anticipation for the upcoming episode 7 movie but may also make it easier to launch related products along with the movie like console games and other content via apps.
