Four new posters of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” have been released online. One of the pictures teases the new look of Leia (Carrie Fisher). Following the events of “Force Awakens,” the character may have had a change in her job description in the New Republic.

The pictures posted on the official Star Wars website shows Leia in a costume akin to that of a diplomat rather than a General. Is she on a new diplomatic mission to save the galaxy? With the losses both sides suffered in the first movie of the new trilogy, the galaxy may be in need of capable politicians to forge alliances to take on this ongoing threat.

There is also a picture of the First Order leadership. Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) can be seen without his helmet and a scar on his face. He is joined by Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson).

To help save the galaxy from Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) and his ilk, Rey (Daisy Ridley) is on a mission to enlist the help of Master Jedi Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). The Jedi Master has been living in seclusion on the planet Ahch-To for a long time, presumably at the first Jedi Temple he is supposed to have been looking for. In the picture of Rey and her master, she is carrying the same staff she used in “Force Awakens.”

Among the heroes, Finn (John Boyega) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) will be back with some more bromance. In their picture, they are joined by the droid BB8 and the new character Rose (Kelly Marie Tran).

All the pictures have been taken by Annie Leibovitz and are part of the coverage of Vanity Fair magazine. The latest issue will include articles about the making of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” The magazine will be out on stands on May 31 in Los Angeles and will be released across the US on June 6.
