'Star Wars Rebels' Season 3 episode 2 preview: Darth Maul is back; A secret about Kanan teased

A preview video of the next episode of “Star Wars Rebels” has been released online, along with a clip. Darth Maul returns in the episode, and he is looking for something. Meanwhile, a big secret about Kanan is teased.

The Rebel cell of the heroes faces an old enemy in the next episode. A preview video posted on YouTube shows Hera Syndulla (Vanessa Marshall) telling Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and Ezra (Taylor Gray) that they are being held prisoners, and it is not a Sith Inquisitor.

Darth Maul is back. The former apprentice of the Emperor wants the Sith Holocron Ezra had. In the premiere episode Kanan had given away the holocron to The Bendu (Tom Baker) as a gift. The two Jedi will have to make their way through the giant spiders again to find the huge alien creature and take the holocron back.

“Your true struggle has only begun,” The Bendu tells the Jedi in “Star Wars Rebels” Season 3 episode 2 preview. The video teases some trouble for Kanan, as Darth Maul attempts to kill him by sending him off into space.

A clip from the next episode posted on the YouTube channel of the franchise shows an interaction between Darth Maul and Hera. The Sith reveals Kanan’s real name in the clip. The Jedi was previously called Caleb Dume.

Darth Maul uses the Sith mind trick to extract information from Hera, and is able to find a holocron in the room.

Kanan returned to Ezra’s side in the premiere episode of “Star Wars Rebels” Season 3, and was attempting to guide him away from the Dark Side of the Force. In a recent interview, Gray said that his character was learning about the Dark Side of the Force, which is both a good and a bad thing.
