'Star Wars Rebels' season 3 spoilers: Obi-Wan returns; Final battles for Thrawn and Maul

The mid-season trailer of “Star Wars Rebels” season 3 has been released online. The video shows the return of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The rebels are heading into the final battle against Thrawn, and Maul is also going to come face-to-face with what he has been searching for.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Voice by James Arnold Taylor) will be back on the show. The video (see below) released online shows Ezra (Voice by Taylor Gray) hearing voices again, and the young rebel finds a Holocron that contains a warning from the old Jedi that was recorded right after the end of the Clone Wars.

Maul (Voice by Sam Witwer) will finally get to face the Jedi, and there may be a lightsaber duel between the two. So, Obi-Wan will not only appear in a Holocron, but also in the flesh. The duel may take place on Tatooine, where he had gone with the last hope for the galaxy- Luke Skywalker.

The final battle between Thrawn (Voice by Lars Mikkelsen) and the rebels may be featured in the next part of “Star Wars Rebels” season 3. The Rebel Alliance will stage a coordinated attack against the Empire, and the villain has been waiting for them to show their full strength and weakness before his final attack. The newly designed TIE fighter will also come into play soon.

There will also be a new droid of the Empire the fans will get to see. The droid takes on Chopper in the mid-season trailer.

Saw Gerrera (Voice by Forest Whitaker) will appear in the next episode. The character knows the Empire is hiding something, but doesn’t know what it is. He is of course talking about the Death Star, but the weapon hasn’t been unveiled yet.

“Star Wars Rebels” season 3 will take the viewers back to Mandalore. Sabine (Tiya Sircar) will use her newly acquired Darksaber to fight to rule the planet, and she will have to convince her mother to join her.
