"Star Wars VII" or Episode 7 will reportedly feature a reunion for the original version's three main leads Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher who starred in the films "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" (1977), "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" (1980) and "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" (1983). There have been reports that instead of cameo scenes from the trio, they will be the lead stars in this latest "Star Wars" film directed by J.J. Abrams. Will Luke, Leia and Han be the main focus of this film?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winning screenwriter ("Little Miss Sunshine") Michael Arndt, was tasked to write "Star Wars VII." But, he was replaced by Lawrence Kasdan ("Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark" co-writer) and J.J. Abrams ("Lost," "Fringe," "Super 8," and "Mission: Impossible III") who will also be in charge of screenwriting Star Wars Episode 7.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy confirmed it on StarWars.com and said that she was excited about it.

"I am very excited about the story we have in place and thrilled to have Larry and J.J. working on the script," said Kennedy in the StarWars.com post.

"There are very few people who fundamentally understand the way a Star Wars story works like Larry, and it is nothing short of incredible to have him even more deeply involved in its return to the big screen. J.J. of course is an incredible storyteller in his own right. Michael Arndt has done a terrific job bringing us to this point and we have an amazing filmmaking and design team in place already prepping for production," she added.

It is said there was a dispute about the script, particularly on the characters to focus on in the new Star Wars film. Arndt wanted to focus on Han, Luke and Leia's kids. It has been speculated that the characters Rachel or Thomas which were two roles that Cast It Talent held open auditions for, were the said children that would have been the lead stars.

However, Abrams wanted "Star Wars VII" to focus on Han, Luke and Leia so that "Star Wars" fans will get to see them once more after all these years. Their children in the film will be co-stars in "Star Wars VII" but they will be the lead stars in Episodes VIII and IX.

That's why there will be some major changes in the script and the characters that Arndt already wrote. Some will be older and some will not even make the movie at all.

Hollywood Reporter also said that "The Lord of The Rings" and "Matrix" star Hugo Weaving might play an Imperial commander in the film because he met with the Star Wars people about it.

Will Luke, Leia and Han be the main focus of "Star Wars VII" or Episode 7? Will there be a much anticipated reunion for the original version's three leads? We'll just have to wait and see for more details about "Star Wars VII." Let's just pray that Ford, Hamill and Fisher are still in good shape to act in their old "Star Wars" roles.
