Stephen Colbert invited the dragon Smaug from "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" to his show to ask him about the movie and general issues that concern actors and dragons in Hollywood. The viewers were excited to see the unexpected guest on the show.

Stephen Colbert introduced Smaug as someone who has "teeth like swords and claws like spears." The huge dragon's head broke into the studio from behind an artificial wall built for the episode. The video that is available on YouTube shows the interview to be full of humour.

The interview started with the host pretending to be scared of the "dragon" guest. But Smaug assured him that he already had his fill after eating the hosts of the TV show "The View." The popular TV show features Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Barbara Walters and others as the host.

Smaug is one of the primary antagonists in the movie "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies." Both intelligent and terrifying, Smaug is one of the favourite characters for many fans of the franchise. The voice behind the character in the movie is by the actor Benedict Cumberbatch.

Stephen Colbert suggested that both he and Smaug were fiscal conservatives who liked to sleep on huge piles of money. Smaug agreed and wanted the gold standard to return and also rooted for the Republican politician Rand Paul, who will be running for the office of U.S President in 2016.

The host then asked Smaug why he was portrayed as the villain in the movie "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies." The dragon said that it was because of the bias in Hollywood against conservatives. He also joked about how Kelsey Grammer and Smaug were always looking for the same part.

The dragon was sometimes shown to be interested in eating the audience but Stephen Colbert managed to get its attention back to the interview. He asked why there would be any bias against dragons, to which Smaug said that he was a real dragon and not a "lizard" from the TV show "Game of Thrones." The TV show has three dragons but they are very young and don't have the capacity to speak.

Stephen Colbert also showed the viewers a clip from "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies." The clip was about Bard taking on Smaug in Lake-town. The movie is slated to be released on Dec 26, 2014 in Australia.
