Stephen Curry: I'm a Better Offensive Player Than LeBron James [VIDEO]

Dan Patrick took Stephen Curry by surprise when he asked him who was the better offensive player between him and LeBron James. He got a bigger surprise when Curry declared himself superior to the man believed by many to be the new incarnation of Michael Jordan during an interview at the Dan Patrick Show.

The radio host tried to put the back and forth in better into a more heated discussion by suggesting that LeBron must be the better scorer and Curry the more proficient shooter. Curry's confidence was in full bloom as he defends his ability to both produce points and involve teammates.

"I don't know. He obviously demands a lot of attention on the floor, but I like to say I can distribute, get my teammates involved and be a playmaker as well," Curry replied.

In terms of shooting ability, there is no question that Dell Curry's son has the edge. Proof of which is his scorching hot 44 percent average from the three point line which is substantial even if compared to the respectable 34 percent of James. Add that to his 8 dimes per game and you got yourself a different angle in the discusion.

Just for the sake of arguement, LeBron is still ahead in total points scored last season as he tallied 216 more points than Curry on 30 fewer field goal attempts. Given that Curry has a higher percentage from beyond the arc, understandably James generates most of his points on penetrations which generates a lot of free throws and and-1s. The all-star starting point guard of the Western squad also blew James' percentages in almost all spots on the floor however, majority of his shots came from outside the arc.

Curry countered with bringing in involving teammates but James does not slack in that area either. The two-time champion who plays a position which is not optimal for assists, averaged 6.3 dimes per game to Curry's higher 8.5 assists per game tally. All in all, Patrick might just have made the better assessment that Curry must be the better shooter and LeBron, the superior scorer.

Curry also weighed in on one of the highly contested topics in the sports - the Golden State Warriors decision to choose Klay Thompson and David Lee over Kevin Love and Kevin Martin.

"I don't think you can give up Klay," he added, an expected response from the other half of the Splash BrotherS. "We have such a good core together. You've got David Lee and Andrew Bogut, who's a great front line."
