Big-shot host Steve Price has announced that he will stay where he is and will not go anywhere amidst all the rumours circulating that MTR is suffering from low ratings and will soon close down.

Price knows and understands very well all the financial problems of MTR but he is still feeling confident about the station's future plans. The judge from the Supreme Court gave a decision which left the station still feeling vague about their current situation.

"I will be signing on today. I will be still on air next week. MTR is not closing," Price firmly said.

"I am joined by Steve Vizard, Andrew Bolt and Sam Newman. We are all presenters that are under contracts that still carry on beyond 2011. Macquarie has contracts with all the other members of the staff and so there is no reason that anyone can close down MTR," he continued.

Supreme Court Judge David Habersberger declined to give an injunction to Pacific Star, MTR's partner, which is making arguments on maintaining the station's operations in Melbourne with presenters from the local area.

Judge Habersberger has reiterated that based on the evidence, it may be possible that Macquarie Radio Network, another partner of MTR, may shut down MTR or just opt to source the broadcasts from the 2GB station.

Price is trying to get in touch with the Judge in order to get a clearer explanation on the ruling of the Supreme Court.

"Macquarie Radio has announced that they are not going to close MTR and so there is no reason to believe the rumours that they are going to. We have been receiving a lot of calls, text messages, and emails regarding this matter. This means that a lot of people support us and they all want to be heard amidst everything that has been happening to MTR," said Price.

As it stands, any motion to shut down MTR or replace any of their broadcasts with content from 2GB will be unlawful due to the joint agreement of the parties involved unless it has met the approval of the board of the Melbourne station.
