The Apollo Theater has announced that legendary singer, Stevie Wonder will be the next in line for the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame.In a statement released over the week, the theater said that the singer will be inducted into the New York City institution's Hall of Fame in five months.

According to The Associated Press, the songwriter, who has popularized legendary hits as "I Just Called to Say I Love You" and "Isn't She Lovely?" is scheduled to receive the recognition on June 13 at the New York’s Apollo Theater.

Apollo should mean a lot to Wonder because it’s where the singer started in 1962, said the AP. Known as “Little Stevie Wonder”, the singer was only 12 when he started at Apollo in Harlem. The multi-talented singer has also been called a ‘wonder child’ having played different instruments in his performances.

Stevie wonder now joins the list of the big names in the music industry who have been inducted before him including, Michael Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin.
