Symphonicity Australia tour arrives in Melbourne
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - - The Symphonicity Australia tour featuring the great hits of The Police singer arrives in Melbourne to perform at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
The Herald Sun said that the tour will play Sting’s popular songs for three hours. Sting and project collaborators including guitarist Dominic Miller and singer Jo Lawry are expected to swing over different music genre - - from bossa nova beats and ballads and radiant soul and full throttle rock music.
MSO players will also have their time on stage as they deliver solo. Symphonicity project will be joined in by Internationally acclaimed conductor, Steven Mercurio.
The Symphonicity project was created following Sting’s public invitation through a television camera in late 2009 from anyone in Melbourne to get in touch with him and conceptualize the tour.
The MSO's director of artistic planning, Huw Humphreys then began working with other project partners and discussed a tour with an orchestra.
"From that moment on we seriously started to pursue the idea of working with Sting," Humphreys said, according to The Herald Sun.
