The story of the dishonoured cyclist Lance Armstrong will be featured in a biographical motion picture and the cast has all been set. Ben Foster will play Armstrong opposite Chris O'Dowd who will play the Irish journalist David Walsh. Foster has been known for his remarkable roles in the movies The Punisher and The Mechanic.

Chris O'Dowd, on the other hand, is an actor that is of Irish descent, who appeared in the hit TV comedy in the UK called The I.T. Crowd. O'Dowd has also appeared in the movie Bridesmaids.

Almost throughout his cycling career, Armstrong has faced continuous allegations of doping. The seven-time Tour de France winner refuted all the allegations until January 2013 when he granted an interview with Oprah Winfrey. The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) confirmed the allegations, and Armstrong was then later stripped off of his winnings and banned to compete from competitive racing all his life.

Aside from the handful of controversies that Armstrong faced in his professional cycling career, he has also battled cancer. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996, which had already spread to his lungs and brain. He had undergone chemotherapy treatments and was declared cancer-free in 1997.

A documentary film titled Road to Paris was already released in 2001, showing the preparation of Armstrong and his team for the 2001 Tour de France. On Oct 12, another documentary film titled The Armstrong Lie was also shown in U.S. theatres. Warner Brothers is also shooting its own version of the cyclist's biopic, titled Red Blooded American, where Hangover star Bradley Cooper is rumoured to play the role. Paramount Pictures is also expected to shoot a movie based on Armstrong titled Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong.

As reported by Contact Music, the upcoming new Armstrong biopic, which stars Foster and O'Dowd, has not title yet. The movie will be based on the book by David Walsh titled Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong. Walsh is an Irish journalist who discovered and exposed Armstrong's doping and performance-enhance drugs abuse.

It is surprising just how many Armstrong movies are taking filmed, nowadays. Who do you think will play the role of Lance Armstrong better? Ben Foster seems to resemble a lot like Armstrong. What do you think?
