'Suicide Squad' star Cara Delevingne speaks on love for Annie Clark
As “Suicide Squad” has moved further into the public eye, the stars of the upcoming blockbuster have other things to say in relation to their personal lives. One such example is model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne.
Recently, “Paper Towns” star and “Suicide Squad” femme fatale Delevingne spoke on her relationship with singer-songwriter Annie Clarke, more popularly known as St. Vincent. The actress was rather straightforward with her response to the masses who pay attention to her sexuality.
According to Vogue (via Irishmirror), Delevingne went deep with her statements towards Clark and was quoted, “I’m completely in love. Before, I didn’t know what love was -- real love. I didn’t understand the depth of it. I always used to think it was you against the world. Now I know the meaning of life is love. Whether that’s for yourself or for the world or your partner.”
Delevingne was also very vocal on being gay, despite the fact that she admitted on using the particular word incorrectly at times. During her younger years, Delevingne stated that she used the term ‘gay’ as somewhat an insult just like her friends.
It came to the point that Delevingne now accepts the term for herself and is welcome to being called gay as well. Growing up, Delevingne said that her parents fully supported the idea of her sexuality, as she told Vogue.
The 23-year-old actress is known for her other relationships in the past as well, such as with singer Jake Bugg and one other female Hollywood actress, "Fast and Furious" franchise star Michelle Rodriguez. With such history, Delevingne has become one of the most controversially observed personalities in the said industry.
Delevingne is set to star in the upcoming “Suicide Squad,” which will air in the United States from Aug. 5. She will take on the role of Enchantress, also known as Dr. June Moone, who is allegedly possessed by the demonic entity and bestowed upon her some undetermined powers.
"Suicide Squad" will be released in Australia on Thursday.
