'Suits' Season 3 Episode 7 RECAP 'She is Mine'
At times, wit and charm are used to disguise the real intention, like Stephen Huntley's (Max Beesley). He was the one who ordered the killing of six people in a foreign land, for which Ava Hessington (Michelle Fairley) is facing a murder trial. "Suits" Season 3 Episode 7 "She is Mine" opens with Donna (Sarah Rafferty) telling Stephen that he might be the perfect man and by the end of the episode, Donna is sorry because the perfect man has turned out to be a bunch of lies.
Donna and Stephen are having their romantic moment when Harvey storms in and interrupts that for a moment of heated conversation with Stephen. He asks Stephen "you called Colonel Mariga?" It is Stephen's way of fixing the murder trial. Harvey tells him "You were supposed to be looking out for Ava" and by calling Colonel Mariga it looks like he is on Cameron (Gary Cole) side. Harvey tells him that if he is found meddling with his case again," he is gonna beat the sh** out of him." Harvey does keep his word and beats him up in the closing scene. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that Stephen was protecting only one person and that is himself.
Jessica (Gina Torres) finds out that Cameron is not bluffing about the star witness and Harvey tells her that Stephen is responsible for that. Jessica is still hurt that Harvey struck a deal with Darby to bring her down and become the managing partner. She tells him that Stephen is his guy as he aligned with him and had a deal with Darby. Harvey makes his point that he no longer wants to be the managing partner. Jessica tells Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Harvey that "no one tells Stephen or Darby (Conleth Hill) a 'god damn' thing"
Harvey tells Donna that Stephen contacted Mariga and let Cameron write to him. She tells Stephen that she has a relationship with Harvey that is much longer than a few weeks, and "When you mess with him, you mess with me." Stephen says that he wasn't trying to mess with him but trying to help him. Later Donna finds out that, Stephen went through the disposition of Colonel Mariga and shares that with Mike.
Mariga tells Mike, Harvey and Jessica, "I killed those people because I was paid by your client ... I told your client what needs to be done when we spoke on the phone." Ava thought that it was an insignificant conversation thus did not remember or mention about the call. Jessica wants to make Nick, the former protégé of Ava, the fall guy. Mike finds some dirt on him by tricking Cameron.
However, soon he discovers the real fact - Stephen is the man who is responsible behind the call to Mariga to kill the six people who were opposing Ava's pipeline deal. Mariga and Stephen became friends when the latter was in Cape Town as a foreign exchange student. They were in the same rugby team. Stephen had landed in New York the moment Ava's murder trial began. And, he had gone through Mariga's disposition to see what he revealed and whether his name came-up.
Donna is stumped and says, "I'm so sorry Harvey." Harvey finds Stephen in the bathroom and beats the sh** out of him.
While all this was going on, Louis was planning to steal Nigel's cat and a custody battle takes place. Rachel (Meghan Markle) fights the custody case on Louis' behalf. Nigel (Adam Godley) returns a week earlier from his trip to find that he can no longer collect his prized possession. Louis wants to keep the cat as he has grown attached to it and it has brought happiness in his life. The associates are appointed as jury. Louis accuses Nigel of not taking care of the cat, properly and thus he has the right to keep it. Nigel questions his parenting skills and tells him that his associates are terrified of him because he screams, belittles them and displays sadism. He puts forward Harold Gunderson (Max Topplin), an associate that Louis fired, as his witness. However, Rachel in her cross-questioning makes Harold confess that, because of Louis' training he is better at his work and that he loved his cat Bruno.
Louis wins the custody battle. Nigel, however, gives him an offer that he can take back his associates. In return, he wants his cat back. Rachel convinces Louis to do that. The deal is struck. Louis appreciates Rachel and says that she will make a real, good lawyer. He gives her the document, telling her that she is going to Columbia law school. Rachel hugs a happy Louis.
