Hours before the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots lock horns for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, fans can whet their appetite for Sunday's Super Bowl 2017 courtesy an impressive line-up of shows that begin nearly eight hours before the 6:30 p.m. ET, 10:30 a.m. AEDT (Monday) kick-off. The shows, which begin at 11:00 a.m. ET can be seen on various platforms and networks across the United States and Australia.
In the States, Fox Sports, the official broadcaster, would telecast Bill O’Reilly's special interview with President Donald Trump at 4:00 p.m. ET. Trump, an avid football fan, is expected to offer his predictions on the big game. The NFL Network and ESPN will telecast special packages and interview segments of their own.
In Australia, ESPN will build up to the game through a live telecast of NFL Insiders which begins at 02:00 a.m. AEDT during the wee hours of Monday morning. A couple of ESPN-produced shows such as 'Road to the Super Bowl' will lead into 10:00 a.m. AEDT kick-off. Viewers can also catch the halftime show and the post-game show titled 'NFL Primetime' at 14:30 p.m. AEDT. They also the option of watching the U.S. telecast via the NFL Network.
Super Bowl 51: Lady Gaga halftime show to feature hundreds of drones
Lady Gaga will provide the halftime entertainment, joining fellow pop icons Beyoncé (2013), Prince (2007), Michael Jackson (1993) and Rolling Stones (2006), who have left an impression in Super Bowl folklore with enthralling performances in previous editions. Per reports, Gaga's halftime show will illuminate the sky with several hundred aerial drones that are expected to form spaces while hovering above the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Tony Bennett is the other half time attraction at this year's Super Bowl LI.
During the 12-minute halftime show, Gaga is expected to descend from the roof of the stadium, per the New York Times. Earlier this week, the singer revealed that Michael Jackson's 1993 performance inspired her to perform in this year's extravaganza. “Watching Michael Jackson do the halftime show is one of the fondest memories that I have. You watch him go onstage and you can see that he’s getting his head into the zone and he’s having a true defining moment about what it must feel like to be a champion.”
