When asked about his exclusion in the "Avengers 2″, Tom Hiddleston aka Loki revealed that he thinks it's actually better for the movie that Loki is not around.

"I think it's great for the film that I'm not going to be in it. Because I'm so proud of the first one. Joss and I, there were so many things that we both love about it and in a way if I was in it we'd be chasing those moments, we'd be chasing that again. The Avengers need a new bad guy to fight, they need new things to do...but for the film I'll be waving them off and saying 'Good luck, have fun' and I'll be in the front row when it comes out."

Despite being a member of the Frost Giants, Loki possesses similar attributes to those possessed by the Asgardians. Loki is a master sorcerer, and has a broad range of powers and capabilities, including:

  • Superhuman Strength and stamina
  • Superhumanly Dense Tissue
  • Superhuman Durability and Longevity
  • Sorcery
  • Regenerative Healing Factor
  • Psionics
  • Shape-shifting

How to make a negative character that is credible and entertaining at the same time for audience and still possess super human powers and capabilities.

Whedon, has said that he will remove a few of the capabilities and make the Ultron character seem more human in his interview you can read full interview here

"I knew right away what I wanted to do with him. He's always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he's got a bee in his bonnet. He's not a happy guy, which means he's an interesting guy. He's got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we'll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who's a witch."
