“Supergirl” actor David Harewood has opened up about portraying double roles in the show. Harewood has been playing the roles of revengeful Hank Henshaw, as well as now reborn Cyborg Superman and said the job is not really challenging at all.

In one of his recent interviews, the actor has shared that what makes his double duty in “Supergirl” easy is that one of the characters he plays has much more darkness in him. I'm enjoying that element and being darker,” he told IGN.

Harewood said there is not much information on Cyborg Superman or why he was nicknamed as such. He admitted that there are some things about his character that he, just like the viewers, doesn't totally understand.

The actor said he tries not to ask himself anything deep. He just plays what is on the page and tries to not ask any questions.

When asked about why he thinks Cyborg Superman has opted to be called as such and if he believes his character has a fixation on Superman, Harewood has maintained that he is not really asking himself too many questions, specifically about mythology. I think the mythology is a lot more complex than we can get into our show,” he said.

The actor believes that it would be best if he read his script and base his acting on what is written on the page rather than basing it on mythology. He said mythology is actually different. For Harewood, looking into the mythology will likely cause more difficulties.

In the same interview, he has also talked about working with actress Sharon Leal (Miss Martian) in “Supergirl.” He described him as a fantastic actress.

Harewood is also known for his portrayal of David Estes, the Deputy Director of the CIA's Counterterrorism Center in the Showtime series, “Homeland.” He has also made an appearance in BBC single drama “Mrs Mandela,” in which he played the role of Nelson Mandela.

Moreover, he has played Brother Tuck in “Robin Hood” season 3. Harewood has also played Martin Luther King in “The Mountaintop.” Last year, he won Best Actor in the Bridgestone Narrative Competition for “Free in Deed.”

“Supergirl” season 2 airs in Australia every Tuesday at 9:10 a.m. on Fox8. Last month, the CW has announced that the show is renewed for another season, along with other shows such as “Arrow” (season 6), “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” (season 3) and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” (season 3).
