The CW recently released a new trailer for “Supergirl’s” second season, and it was loaded with new footage from the series’ own Superman Tyler Hoechlin. At one point, however, Superman hints after a heroic stint that “we’re moving back to Gotham.” This has gotten people wondering how far such clues could lead to.

Batman’s presence is just too strong across different DC projects and platforms and this small hint has gotten viewers curious as to what it can lead to, with some even hoping that they will see the Dark Knight on the show. While most fans would remain skeptic and dismiss this hint and consider it as meaning nothing, it has to be noted that Superman was just a shadowed figure in the first season of “Supergirl” but is now played by a real actor, reports Comicbook.com.

When executive producer Ali Adler was asked about the possibility of the caped crusader dropping by on the show, he responded that he feels that they “have our hands full with the crossover we’re shooting right now.” This is worth considering since Supergirl’s universe is now closely intertwines with that of Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. He also adds that viewers would be satisfied with the amount of crossovers that they will offer this season.

Screen Crush reports that the second season’s introduction of Maggie Sawyer had already served as a minor crossover from the Batman franchise. Rumours, however, that Sawyer’s partner Kathy Kane who is also known as Batwoman would be appearing on the show soon, have already been debunked.

It is also reported that those are not the only Batman Easter eggs that have been dropped in the show. Earlier, it had been revealed that there’s a morning show featured called “Live with Gordon and Jim” which appears on Cat Grant’s monitor. It is not too hard to imagine that whoever came up with that show’s name did intend to put Gordon and Jim in an attempted subtle manner.

“Supergirl” will return to TV screens on Monday October 10 at 8 p.m. on The CW. It also airs on Syfy in Australia.
