'Supergirl' season 2 spoilers: Spinoff show for Superman reportedly in the works

For most shows that have details and intricacies that are too numerous to be covered by one flow of events, one show might not be enough for fans who keep on raving for more. For a show like “Supergirl,” which was been drawing crowds to CW since its big transfer, fans should not be too surprised if it gets big enough to have a spinoff of its own soon, which could feature a more popular relative by the name of Clark Kent.

Gizmodo reports that after Tyler Hoechlin’s debut on “Supergirl” as the Man of Steel, big boss Andrew Kreisberg hinted that their eyes are not closed on the possibility for this version of Superman to have his own series on the network. After all, CW still has one weekday night that does not show a superhero. While that might excite a lot of fans, Kreisberg stressed that their current efforts are focused on “Supergirl” and the future of Superman in the DC TV multiverse is not yet in sight.

He adds that he is not going to just sit there and say that there will never be a world wherein there is a “Superman” TV show that will star Tyler Hoechlin. He does not know what the future holds, but as of the moment, that is not their focus. Their eyes are on “Supergirl” which is the flagship that could potentially launch the spinoff if things turn out right.
Fans of “Supergirl” have gotten comfortable to seeing Superman on the show so fast that they have moved on right away to asking if they will be treated to a TV series that will feature the Man of Steel soon. While Kresiberg does not totally dismiss that possibility, fans should avoid getting overexcited as it appears that the spinoff is not coming soon. However, fans should be delighted that for now, Superman has already made his presence known in the TV universe.
“Supergirl” airs every Monday at 8 p.m. on the CW. It also airs on Syfy in Australia.
