Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), the Winchester brothers, will be back come Fall for Supernatural Season 8.

Scoop has come out that Ackles will be sitting on the director's chair to lead the premiere of the other-creatures-high-and-low series.

Production is tight-lipped on spoilers, other than Ackles will direct a special episode again. What fans can tell from that is they will be getting a satisfying narration and imagery of what happens to Dean from the final acts of Season 7 finale.

Ackles have been known to churn out impressive episodes, albeit with less Dean time. The expectation is a combination of 'awesome' and Dean-scene-yearning.

Questions were raised at the end of Season 7: Does Dean stay in one piece in the midst of ferocious souls? Will Sam stay sober and sane having been left all alone? Previous episodes have seen him do rather insane things because he never did well away from Dean.

More questions: Where in the H will Castiel end up? (Heaven or hell? Where, really?) And will he show up again, or was that it? Fans will have to wait for over three more months.

"We don't get a very long break - it's about two and a half months. I actually have to go back early because I'm going to direct the first episode [of Supernatural]. My break is even a little shorter, but we try to make the most of it. It's not optimal, but as I always say, it's a good problem to have," Ackles told Us Weekly.

For Supernatural executive producer Robert Singer, the Winchester brothers will always have each other.

"We wanted them to be the last cowboys out there and the modern world was closing in on them," he told EW.

In another scoop, Supernatural will be moved from Fridays to Wednesdays. The Winchester brothers will be seen after a new series from The CW, Arrow, starring Stephen Amell.
