Famous clothing line H&M has released its new holiday campaign featuring the A-list pop icon -- Katy Perry. The star also wrote a special song titled “Every Day is a Holiday” for the campaign.
In the newly released photos of H&M on Tuesday, Perry wears a different set of clothes which radiates her festive and peppy energy. She also poses alongside a giant candy cane, an ornament and a human-sized toy soldier in the ads.
The 31-year-old singer took to Instagram in July to announce her newest project. The singer posted a snap of her wearing a sweater with red ribbons on her head.
“Ladies, Gentlemen & unlabeled... I am excited to announce that I will be _starring_in @hm's #HappyandMerry Holiday Campaign launching later this year!!! Stay tuned for the whole unwrapping! Tap for credits! (can't believe I already have holiday emojis in my most recently used emoji's...more shame),” she captioned.
Perry’s new song “Every Day is a Holiday” will serve as the soundtrack of the campaign. Duke Dumont produced the track.
In a press release by H&M, the singer said she enjoyed shooting for the “larger-than-life” holiday commercial with Jonas Akerlund as well as wearing the collection that includes her favourite Elfie Selfie sweater.
“H&M has been a part of the evolution of my personal style since I was 13, when I would start to incorporate fun, affordable H&M pieces into my vintage wardrobe. I can’t wait for you to give your wardrobe some sparkle with this magical holiday collection," the singer said.
Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s Head of Design, said the holiday collection includes “pieces for pleasure” which can be worn as the perfect party dress or the coolest fun jumper. In both the commercial and print campaign, Perry wears the H&M holiday collection of “mix festive glamour, style and fun,” Wohlfahrt added.
This is not the first campaign that Perry has landed this year, In June, the pop star served as the face of Moschino campaign where she sported the fall-winter 2015 collection of designer Jeremy Scott.
Recently, Katy Perry has been named as Forbes’ Highest-Paid Women in Music with a gross total of US$135 million this year. With earnings from her Prismatic World Tour, the singer surpassed the combined net-worths of Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna.
H&M’s holiday commercial starring Perry will debut worldwide on Nov. 23 at hm.com/life.
