‘Survivor’ Season 31 episode 10 suffers low ratings before Thanksgiving
Hosted by Jeff Probst, “Survivor” Season 31 episode 10 aired on CBS one day before Thanksgiving. The episode featuring the 10 remaining castaways in the merged tribe was watched by 8.18 million viewers.
The first part of “Survivor” Season 31 episode 10 titled “Like Selling Your Soul to the Devil” aired at 8 p.m. followed by the second part “'My Wheels Are Spinning” at 9 p.m. Both parts averaged 1.8/6 adults 18-49 rating/share, TV by the Numbers has learned.
“Survivor” Season 31 episode 10 had higher ratings than those of most of the other shows on the same time slot, including another CBS Fox show “Rosewood,” ABC shows “The Middle,” “Modern Family,” “SNL Thanksgiving,” “Black-ish” and “The Goldbergs,” and NBC show “The Making of the Wiz Live” and The CW show “Automobiles.” The only show that had higher ratings than the pre-Thanksgiving episode of “Survivor” Season 31 is “Empire” Season 2 on Fox.
While it managed to have higher ratings than almost all of its rivals, the ratings of “Survivor” Season 31 episode 10 were not satisfactory as compared to the ABC competitive show’s ratings in the past. This is the first time the show had a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating/share decline with a regular episode and for a non-reunion episode, it is down 10 and 14 percent to series lows, according to TV Line.
In the first part of “Survivor” Season 31 episode 10 titled “Like Selling Your Soul to the Devil,” Ciera Eastin was eliminated and became the 10th member of the jury. It was Joe Anglim who won immunity.
Stephen Fishbach was eliminated in the second part of “Survivor” Season 31 episode 10 titled “'My Wheels Are Spinning” while Spencer Bledsoe won immunity. Aside from Anglim, the other remaining castaways are Keith Nale, Jeremy Collins, Abi-Maria Gomes, Ciera Eastin, Tasha Fox, Kelley Wentworth and Kimmi Kappenberg.
Also known as “Survivor: Cambodia- Second Chance,” “Survivor” Season 31 premiered on Sept. 23. It was filmed in Koh Rong, Cambodia from May 31 to July 8.
