Swimmer Stephanie Rice Ready to win Day One of London Olympics 2012
Australian top swimmer Stephanie Rice aims to gain domination and momentum on the first day this year's Olympics in London.
Rice is determined to hold on tight with her gold medal in the 400m individual medley despite having a bad right shoulder that may impede her with her goal. Rice is banking on her ability to swim the fastest with the whole world watching her.
Some of Rice's biggest competitions are American race favorites Elizabeth Beisel and Brit Hannah Miley.
However, coach Leigh Nugent said that Rice have the chance for the gold medal.
"She's a great competitor and she won't go lying down ... it will be a fight to the death. They are very closely packed in that event and it could go either way. But she is determined to defend her title and she can do that," the coach said.
Stephanie rose to fame in the world of sports after winning three gold medals in the previous Olympics in Beijing. Stephanie is determined to start rolling the ball of Australian wins on the first day.
Nugent second this saying that a successful opening night could set the tone for his team in London.
Stephanie Rice made a lot of buzz last month after posting an Instagram photo of her in a risqué two-piece bikini wear. It was in line for the swimmer's 24th birthday and the bikini was designed by Ellie Gonsalves. It was the swimwear designer's birthday present for the Olympian.
That was not the first photo the athlete shared wearing a sexy swimwear. Stephanie also posted a photo wearing a red swimwear several weeks after she broke up with Quade Cooper.
There were fans of Stephanie Rice who were disappointed with the picture of their idol athlete, but for others, it is just another swimwear picture. Still, Australians are praying for Stephanie's win.
