Sylvester Stallone Talking With Producers for a Rambo TV Show
Sylvester Stallone is talking with the producers of a TV show based on the famous Rambo movies. Entertainment one and Avi Lerner's Nu Image are said to developing the TV show together.
Stallone is said to be playing a role more at the "creative level" according to a report from Hollywood Reporter. So, fans may not actually see the action hero in his iconic role as Rambo.
The Rambo movies, the latest of which was released in 2008, were released in the 80s. The movies covered subjects like the Vietnam War and the Afgan- Soviet war.
There was also an animated Rambo TV series, where the cartoon character Rambo is seen fighting his enemies with multi-million dollar equipment. Fans expect to see a lot of action in a Rambo movie/TV series. It will be interesting to see how the producers of the upcoming TV show balance the budget and at the same time provide the viewers with some hard hitting action.
The TV show to make a successful transition from the big screen to the small screen will need a lot of inputs from Stallone especially, if he is not starring in it himself. The Rambo character had to a very large extent portrayed diverse facets of what a soldier goes through. One of the movies also introduced a budding romance which eventually died with the death of Rambo's lover.
Fans can expect the movie to be an all round entertainer in a TV series. A TV series has the luxury of taking its time to showcase the different aspects of the Rambo character.
Given the popularity of the Rambo movies, fans can expect to see the TV show to be released not only in the U.S but also in the International market.
Meanwhile Sylvester Stallone is busy shooting for his next installment from "The Expendables." The fans can meanwhile see the actor in his upcoming movie "The escape Plan" which is slated for release in the U.S on 18 Oct. The extent of the actor's engagement with the "Rambo" TV series remains to be seen, due to his hectic schedule for shooting and promotional activities of his other movies.
