‘Taken 3’ Star Maggie Grace Recalls How Liam Neeson Prank Called Her Ex-Boyfriend, Calls Him Best Fake Film Dad [VIDEO]
Liam Neeson call-pranked his movie daughter’s ex-boyfriend. “Taken 3” star Maggie Grace called the 62-year-old actor “the best fake movie dad any girl could ask for.”
The two have been co-stars since the first “Taken” film premiered in 2008. Neeson plays Grace’s dad, whose “particular set of skills” enabled him to rescue his daughter from the hands of human traffickers in France. Now, after three movies of working together, Grace revealed why Neeson is the “best fake movie dad” ever.
The 31-year-old actress told “Conan” host Conan O’Brian how Neeson helped her get back at an ex-boyfriend who broke her heart. Neeson, after hearing Grace’s heartache, vowed to help her by setting the boy straight.
He called the unnamed former boyfriend on the phone, and threatened him using his famous lines from the film. Grace recorded the voice mail and played it on the show.
“This is Bryan Mills. We’ve never met, and if you play your cards right, we never will. Now listen, [redacted]. You’re lower than the pond scum, so I’m just gonna say this once,” Neeson said in the recording, referring to his character in “Taken.”
“You’ve made two mistakes. Your first mistake was dating out of your league. Your second mistake, well, let’s just say any more mistakes and I’ll break your other arm, slowly. I don’t need to say it, but I have a particular set of skills. And I don’t want to waste it on you. Now you get your s--- together.”
Neeson delivered his fake threat in his Bryan Mills voice, which would understandably scared anyone subjected to it. The short clip did not mention what happened to the hapless ex-boyfriend, but it’s safe to say he got the message. In any case, it did put a smile to Grace’s face, which was probably Neeson’s goal in the first place.
Neeson and Grace are starring in the third and final instalment in the “Taken” trilogy. Forest Whitaker, Famke Janssen and Dougray Scott also star.
