The photographs of two famous Filipinos in kissing scenes had gone viral in social media and are the talk of the town.

The first incident involves the 23-year-old Miss World 2013, Megan Young, who was congratulated by the House of Representatives for her victory in the international beauty pageant.

The Lower House of Congress passed a resolution commending Megan for winning the title and have her a Congressional Medal of Distinction. Widower and 77-year-old House Speaker Sonny Belmonte, who is probably as old if not older than the beauty queen's grandfather, presented her the resolution and accompanied it with a kiss.

No, it was not a grandfatherly kiss characterised as a very light buzz with no accompanying malice nor was it a socialite's kiss in which only the cheeks touch, no lips involved.

As the viral photo (https://www.facebook.com/OccupyPhilippines/posts/537185773035878) shows, the speaker was kissing her behind the ear and on her neck. Megan's facial expression shows she was surprised by the move.

In a post that accompanied the photo, PERK UP! The Philippine Business and News Forum took politician to task for his ungentlemanly gesture. "A shake hand or 'beso-beso would be enough gesture to express your admiration to her. By doing this you only show what kind of animal you are," the news forum wrote.

Commenting on the photo, while expressing disgust, former Congresswoman Lorna Verano said, "I know this one ... He gives meaning to the word LECHEROUS and takes it to another level."

Romeo Dela Cruz added, "What a dirty old man!!!" while Nigel Pope said, "What a filthy grub."

A group called Occupy Philippines urged Belmonte not to imitate popular Flilipino folk singer Freddie Aguilar also dragged in a kissing scandal.

That is where the second Maegan (with an e) comes in. Maegan Aguilar is the daughter of Freddie, and she is now defending him for criticisms over his viral photo showing him liplocked with his girlfriend who is only 16. Freddie, who composed and originally sang Anak (Child), is 60.

Maegan is defending her dad from criticisms. "What is your problem?" she asked obviously annoyed by the negative reaction to the May-December affair. The news of Freddie in a relationship with someone young enough to be his granddaughter was worsened with viral photos of the two - smooching!

In his self-defence, Freddie - whose song about a wayward child which could apply to his girlfriend - insisted he was not aware she is still a minor. "But what can I do now? Will I still back off when I am already deeply in love?" he said in Pilipino, quoted by Pep.ph.

He also expressed willingness to marry his girlfriend, identified by Maegan as Jovi Gatdula, but agreed he could not right now because Philippine laws prohibit marriage below 18 and require parental consent for people who are getting married and only between 18 and 21.

Meagan, who is also a singer, wrote in her Facebook fan page: "My father has been separated from our mother for more than a decade. We, their 6 offspring, believe Dad has not been remiss to us in his duties as a parent. We all grew independent and absolutely free from the shackles of society. None of us are liars or corrupt lost most people around us." (translated)

She added that an older man falling for a much younger girl is not a new thing either as sweethearts or married couples. Maegan pointed out such was the case between her grandparents since her granny was only 16 when she married a man aged 35.

However, the age difference between her grandparents was just 19, while between her dad and Jovi it is 44.

Some Filipino celebrities reacted to the May-December affair. Character actor Ping Medina joked that Freddie's new single is titled Apo (Grandchild), while comedian Gabe Mercado tweeted that it is not the age difference between Freddie and Jovi that is the problem, rather "IT"S HER AGE."
