Taylor Lautner: Taylor Swift's ex confirms 'Back to December' was about him
The 24-year-old actor talks about his former romance and 'T-squared' in 2009
"Twilight" actor Taylor Lautner has admitted that Taylor Swift once wrote a song about him. The 24-year-old actor spilled the beans in an interview with his "Scream Queens" co-stars Lea Michele and John Stamos.
Taylor was in a Facebook Live chat with Lea and John on Tuesday. The live interview was held at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills. His two co-stars managed to convince him to open up about his past with the "Out of the Woods" singer, who is now dating Marvel actor Tom Hiddleston.
“You dated Taylor Swift, I remember that,” the "Glee" cast member told the "Twilight" werewolf, who tried to avoid the topic.
“That’s hilarious,” he replied. "Should we talk about it?” Lea pressed on and avoided dismissing the subject, much to his chagrin. "No! I don't know why you guys want to talk about it," Taylor blurted. However, he gave in and the "Brunette Ambition" author first asked if the pop-country diva ever wrote a song about him.
“I think it’s something about a sweater and a hat, right?” Lea teased. She added that she listens to Taylor's songs. "Something about a hat! I don't know!" She and John then began making up lyrics akin to the rumoured single. “It’s like, your hat in December!”
“It’s called ‘Back to December,’” Taylor finally said. John shared his sentiments as an ex-lover, former "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul, wrote a song about him as well. The song was entitled "Cold-hearted Snake."
In 2009, the "Abduction" actor and the Billboard chart-topper made headlines when they were dating. Fans named the pair "Taylor-squared" or "T-squared." The two starred in Garry Marshall's film "Valentines Day" where they played as awkward high school sweethearts. The two called it quits after dating for a few months.
Many fans agreed that "Back to December" from Taylor's 2010 album "Speak Now" was written for the actor. There were several lyrics which alluded to their times together and to his physical features such as his "tanned skin" and "sweet smile."
