Taylor Swift, 5SOS Member Michael Clifford ‘Flirt’: Sweet Tweets Hint At New Romance--Report
Fans are 'undoubtedly' curious about what's going on between Taylor Swift and 5SOS singer Michael Clifford, especially after the singers' exchanged sweet tweets. It is being speculated that the tweets are hinting that there is something romantic going on between the two singers.
According to Sugarscape, the Twitter exchange started on Nov. 27 when Michael Clifford, from the Australian band Five Seconds of Summer (5SOS), sent a tweet about jumping late on the bandwagon of liking Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off." Taylor replied to his tweet after three days. She asked if they're even as she was late in retweeting him, much to the delight of the 5SOS singer (see tweets below).
The exchange of tweets, believed to be signs of a romance brewing between Taylor and Michael, didn't end at calling it even. Taylor also tweeted him her congratulations on 5SOS' win at the American Music Awards. Michael returned the favour, saying that Tay's "sweet" performance of "Blank Space" made him cry. The Aussie singer also shared a video, which features two men crying. Eventually, the exchange ended with Taylor calling the 19-year old Australian as her Twitter BFF, as that is what Michael has supposedly implied through his tweets.
While the tweets were nothing more than a friendly exchange, Hollywood Life suspects that Taylor and Michael were actually "flirting" with each other. The 24-year old is allegedly "playing her single game right now" and that includes flirting not just with Michael but with 1975 singer Matt Healy. According to the site, the latter and the "Shake It Off" singer has reportedly been spending a lot of time together. Matt even confirmed during a guest appearance on an Australian radio show that he finds Taylor a "sensation" and that they've "exchanged numbers." According to Yahoo UK, the DJ even referred to the pair as a hot new couple. However, Healy declined to comment and instead said, "Let's just see what happens."
Meanwhile, there is reportedly nothing romantic about the recent exchange of tweets between Michael and Taylor. J-14 states that the two are merely starting a friendship and that there is likely a possibility of a future music collaboration. Also, it seems unlikely that the 24-year old singer and the 5SOS member may get involved, romantically, since the latter is believed to be close friends with Taylor's ex, Harry Styles.
