One Direction's Zayn Malik is set to tie the knot with Little Mix's Perrie Edwards anytime this year. However their wedding year won't turn out to be uneventful given a controversy sparked online involving Zayn Malik. Reports claim Zayn Malik was Taylor Swift's initial target long before she dated Harry Styles.

How would Perrie Edwards react to such news? Life & Style reports that before "Haylor" even came to be, Taylor Swift had her eyes set for another One Direction cutie, namely Zayn Malik.

"Taylor had her eye on Zayn Malik. The feelings weren't mutual and when Zayn found out she was interested, he turned her down," says the source, adding, "That's when she swooped in on Harry."

Before "Directioners" send out hateful tweets to the "Red" singer, a representative of Taylor Swift shoots down the hilarious rumours. Taylor Swift never had her eye out for Perrie Edwards's beau so Perrie can certainly relax.

As for the other One Direction member, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles had quite the awkward run in at the MTV Video Music Awards. In fact, Swift had made a slight diss at Styles' way after receiving the award that night. Yet, Ed Sheeran posted a photo of him along with Harry and Taylor looking friendly together which could mean things have calmed down between the two. Does this mean a romantic reconciliation could happen?

"I've seen my friends take someone back after they've cheated because they fit perfectly. But I don't know, because I've never had a perfect fit with someone," explains Swift in her interview with Glamour magazine.

A "Haylor" reunion is unlikely to happen anytime soon. As for Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards' big wedding, sources claim it might happen by December or January of next year.
