Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris are smitten, but Harris doesn’t want to work with Tay as he eyes collab with Beyonce
Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris had a lovely weekend celebrating their one year anniversary together. Harris surprised Swift by gifting her a heart-shaped gold locket and homemade cake. Taylor made the milestone announcement on Instagram with a photo of the locket that had the date engraved on the shiny piece of jewellery. The “Out Of The Woods” singer simply captioned it “3.6.15 One year down!” with a heart symbol.
Harris too took to social media as he shared a video of the two celebrating their anniversary with a heart-shaped cake and the words “1 YEAR” on Snapchat. The video clip showed Harris unveiling the cake that featured red heart frosting and chocolate icing.
“One year. We got one year cake. We got one year cake. It's one year,” said the Scottish DJ, as he whipped off the cover. The camera then focused on Taylor who looked very excited. The terribly-busy couple had cleared their schedules for the special night in order to be together sans disturbance.
The couple’s romance quickly blossomed after the Brit Awards in 2015 and the two have been going strong ever since. However, Harris apparently does not want their careers to merge. He even refused to work with his girlfriend as his relationship with ex Rita Ora turned sour after they worked together.
A source recently told The Sun that Harris’ next single is ready though the label wants a popular US star on it. Even though a lot of big names want to work with Harris, somebody floated the idea of a Swift-Harris collaboration. However, Harris politely refused. He has previously worked with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Kylie and Rihanna.
“Calvin has seen how sour things can turn when working with someone he’s dating. He is very serious about Taylor and doesn’t want to rock the boat. He’s smitten. Instead, he is in talks with Beyonce as he’s always wanted the pair to work together,” the source added.
Taylor and Harris first started dating in April 2015 after they were introduced by mutual friends. The couple is reportedly purchasing their first home together. The two have made an offer for a house at Carbon Beach, Malibu, writes Stuff.co.nz.
