Taylor Swift Fan Open Unexpected Package With $1989 From ‘Blank Space’ Hitmaker
Rebekah Bortniker was the latest among the Swifties who received a surprise gift from “Blank Space” hitmaker Taylor Swift. A giant box the FedEx marked out to say SwiftEx containing several meticulously wrapped gifts was sent to the Overland Park woman.
On Jan. 12, Monday, Bortniker posted a seven-minute YouTube video of herself unwrapping the gifts in the SwiftEx box. She starts reading a note from Swift referring to her as “Beks,” saying, “Hi you. I was thinking about you today, and how you have been there cheering me on in the most thoughtful and creative ways.”
In the SwiftEx box are a custom-made floral painting by Swift, along with a Polaroid of herself doing it, a necklace Swift said “was mine, now yours,” and $1989 to help her pay off student loans. It turns out that both Swift and and Bortniker were born in 1989 and, currently, Swift’s album “1989” is number one on the Billboard 200 chart on its ninth week.
Bortniker is a Johnson County Community College graduate with a fashion merchandising degree. On Jan. 14, Wednesday, she told KCTV5 that she was “absolutely blown away” and considers Swift’s surprise gift as “one of the most generous things” anyone could have done for her.
