When Taylor Swift is not busy trying to shoot for the first spot in music charts with her pop songs, which she does perfectly and all the time, she's trying her hand at making that perfect slam dunk. Slam dunk - the one tall basketball players can do in their sleep but Taylor probably can too, in her dreams. She scored A for effort though.

Amidst positive reception of her newest album, "1989," Taylor Swift is trying to win the hearts of her fans as well by playing basketball. Going to a New York Knicks game last night with her BFF Karlie Kloss earned her a chance to shoot some hoops with the New York Knicks. She scored her first slam-dunk with the players' help and managed to tweet about the exhilarating experience and added a video for everyone to check out her "first and last layup."

This week, @Amareisreal helped me make my first and probably last layup. Stoked about the @nyknicks game tonight! http://t.co/89ITZyU4cT

She certainly made basketball and slam-dunk cute with her attempt. However, why the New York Knicks? This is because Taylor Swift was recently named the city's first Global Welcome Ambassador for its "Welcome To New York" campaign. The same song title can be seen in the lineup in her "1989" album. Having just moved to the "City that Never Sleeps," Taylor Swift seems already obsessed with the city.

Taylor Swift also did more than shoot hoops to show how much she loves NYC. She also stopped by "Good Morning America" just this morning and shut down Town Square. New Yorkers were treated to an awesome performance of her new hits, all part of the "1989" album.

She sang "Welcome To New York," "Out Of The Woods," and "Shake It Off." And if that is not enough, the singer also announced that she will be taking these same songs on tour soon.

"I am gonna be going out on tour very soon! We're in the early stages of planning the actual show," Taylor revealed. "I'm excited about announcing things when I can announce them, but it's going to be happening!"
