Taylor Swift 'Shakes It Off' with Dylan Barnes in adorable video
Taylor Swift finally got to meet one of her youngest fans in person. The singer met Dylan Barnes, the 7-year old boy who became an internet sensation for his video where he’s seen dancing to “Shake It Off.”
Taylor certainly made Dylan’s day when she invited him backstage after her Kansas concert so they could do a dance-off together. In a video shared on her Instagram page, the “Blank Space” singer revealed that she “finally got to meet Dylan, the 7-year-old who passionately danced to Shake It Off on Ellen.” It wasn’t a normal meet-and-greet for the young boy though as he was captured looking so happy to “Shake It Off” with Taylor.
Her post has since receive over 1 million views and over 48 thousand comments from fans who said the pair looked adorable dancing together.
Prior to meeting Taylor, Dylan, from Overland Park, Kansas, gained headlines back in August because of his Facebook video where he’s seen pretending to sing to “Shake It Off” while kicking and twirling to the song. Rockettes described it as his “epic, freestyle dance moves.” The video has since received over 6 million views since it was shared on Aug. 6.
Dylan was later invited to dance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” for a live performance with the stage made to look like his own living room. According to Rockettes, it was Ellen who arranged for the 7-year old to meet Taylor after her “1989” World Tour concert in Kentucky on Monday.
During his appearance on the show, Dylan tells Ellen in the video below that he’s been dancing since he was 5-years old. He also joins a dance class after his parents encouraged him to do so, which he said he was more than excited to do.
When asked if he had to practice for his “Shake It Off” dance, Dylan admitted that he doesn’t really like to practice his choreography. For him it’s more of an impromptu dance routine. The Taylor Swift fan told Ellen that after his video went viral he became some kind of a celebrity in his dance class.
