Taylor Swift threw a party for her close pal and squad member Lorde as she celebrated her 20th birthday on Monday. The celebration happened at Carbone in New York where Taylor was joined by her brother Austin Taylor. Karlie Kloss, Aziz Ansari, Lena Dunham, Mae Whitman and Rachel Antonoff also joined the birthday bash.

The restaurant was filled with red and gold balloons with several giant gold balloons that spelled out "UR 20." Ella Yelchin, Lorde's real name, was greeted by her friends, singing "Happy Birthday" while a cake was being brought to her.

“Had the best birthday party I’ve ever had tonight surrounded by my NYC family. All organised by Tay who is as she says ‘a mom with no kids’. I am ur kid and u love me so hard I could burst. Here’s to our 3 magic years of best friendship and more moments like this squished between angels," as Lorde, who was born on Nov. 7, 1996, in Auckland, captioned the photos.

Taylor also posted on her Instagram a picture of a card she made for Lorde with a message paying tribute to her pal. “Thank you for the music you make, the advice you give, the thoughts you provoke, and the way you’ve made my life more beautiful since the first day we met up in New York and ate burgers on a park bench and got attacked by squirrels. I. Love. You. So. Much. Ella.”

Lorde also shared a lengthy post on Facebook titled A Note From The Desk Of A Newborn Adult as she revealed a new music year.

“Writing Pure Heroine was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record — well, this one is about what comes next. I want nothing more than to spill my guts RIGHT NOW about the whole thing — I want you to see the album cover, pore over the lyrics (the best I’ve written in my life), touch the merch, experience the live show.

“I can hardly stop myself from typing out the name. I just need to keep working a while longer to make it as good as it can be. You’ll have to hold on. The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon. I know you understand.”
