Taylor Swift's 23rd Video & 23rd Birthday to Debut on Thursday
Things are looking up for Taylor Swift this 2012. Apart from another Grammy nod, the country crooner is set to release the highly-anticipated music video of "I Knew You Were Trouble." December 13 is the big date for "Swifties" which is not only the day Swift releases her 23rd music video but also the singer's 23rd birthday. Oh joy.
Taylor Swift has definitely mastered the art of great timing. After the release of her fourth music album, "Red", the singer has kept her fans patiently waiting for each of the songs' music videos. While "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" promised an upbeat tune and a perky, colorful vibe, Swift's music video for "I Knew You Were Trouble" is set to border on the emotional and dark twisted theme.
"As soon as I started writing this song, I knew it was different from anything else on the record, so I knew I wanted the video to be different from anything we'd done ever done," said Swift. "I wanted to tell the story of a girl who falls into a world that's too fast for her, and suffers the consequences," added the country crooner.
"I Knew You Were Trouble" is set to debut on December 13 which is also Swift's 23rd birthday. In the video, directed by Anthony Mandler, Swift works alongside Broadway actor, Reeve Carney.
"I feel incredibly lucky to have gotten to work with Anthony Mandler and to have Reeve Carney as my co-star in the video," explained Swift, adding, "I can't wait for everybody to see it."
The official music video is set to debut in Thursday, December 13 at exactly 4:40 p.m. ET on MTV. Swift's music video launch is just the start of the planned week long birthday celebration of the Grammy Award winner.
As for fans wondering what Swift's birthday plans are, the singer has not released any statement as of late. Some "Swifties" and "Haylor" fans are probably expecting a romantic rendezvous planned by Harry Styles. For now, all fans can do is wait and see.
