Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" Continues To Dominate The Billboard Charts
Let's face it: 2011 is Taylor Swift's year
Aside from winning the coveted 'Entertainer of the Year' at this year's Country Music Awards, her "Speak Now" continues to produce more hits, with at least two of those poised to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week.
The singer-songwriter's new singles, which were previously available in deluxe and international editions of the album, were released widely on digital platforms last November 8. One of these, titled 'Ours', was performed at the CMAs last week.
'Ours' is expected to sell around to approximately 130,000 downloads this week, with others such as 'If This Was a Movie' with 150,000 and 'Superman' with 75,000 to follow suit on the charts. Those moderate figures may just land the first two just outside the Billboard Top 10.
Formerly tagged as "bonus" tracks, a total of six were released individually as singles - 'Ours', 'If We Were a Movie', 'Superman', and alternate versions of album tracks 'Mine', 'Back to December' and 'Haunted'.
But before everything is made official, Billboard based these predictions solely on downloads sales alone, which is also an overwhelming feat.
"Even if we don't count whatever airplay and streaming data 'Movie' and 'Ours' will garner, their sales alone could engineer top 15 debuts on the Hot 100. (The chart blends sales, airplay and streaming data to rank the 100 most popular songs of the week.)," says Billboard.
Speaking of singles, her latest one, 'Sparks Fly', has already reached the top, making that the country superstar's fifth number 1 hit on the mainstream country charts.
Other songs from the album that have previously climbed the charts include the title track, 'Mean' and 'The Story of Us'.
The dough keeps rolling for Swift, though.
In what is seen as a last attempt to sensationalize the album, Big Machine Records is going to release a live CD/DVD and CD/Blu-ray pack of the 2011 'Speak Now' World Tour.
The collection will gather most songs from the latest album performed live, as well as some fan favorites from her other releases, 'Fearless' and 'Taylor Swift'.
