Taylor's Trouble: Swift Admits 'I Knew You Were Trouble' Is for Harry Styles
After avoiding all the drama on the famed "Haylor" split, Taylor Swift finally speaks up about Harry Styles. Also, the country crooner dishes on the song "I Knew You Were Trouble" claiming it was indeed about the One Direction ex-boyfriend. In a nutshell, Harry Styles was indeed "trouble" for Taylor Swift.
The "Haylor" couple was potentially one of the cutest pairings in the business. However, it was also the "swift"-est couple to break apart. Given it was Swift, some fans were not at all surprised with the sudden split between the One Direction hunk and the country crooner. "Directioners" had expected this to happen judging from Swift's reputation of being a "serial dater."
Of course, the short-lived romance had a lot of consequences for Harry Styles. After the split, Harry had been ridiculed by Swift in her performance at the Grammy Awards. During the song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", Swift used an obvious British accent which was a jab at Styles present at the audience.
This wasn't the first time Swift had taken to the stage to publicly humiliate her ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles. During the BRIT Awards, Swift was once again asked to perform. Donning a skimpy black lingerie-type dress, Taylor performed her single from "Red", "I Knew You Were Trouble."
A lot of fans speculated that the song was written and meant for Styles. While Swift denied all claims, the 23-year old has finally confirmed that the song was indeed meant for Harry. In an interview with The Times of London magazine, Taylor Swift explained that she had channelled all the pent-up emotions into the song she had performed at the BRIT Awards where surprisingly the boys of One Direction were also in.
"It's not hard to access that emotion when the person the song is about is standing by the side of the stage watching," said Swift to the publication, adding, "You're balancing the analytical side of your brain, which is telling you where to go and how to go there."
"With the other side of your brain, which is saying, 'Feel everything you're singing, and show it on your face. Feel everything exactly as you felt it when you wrote the song,'" continued Swift.
Fans of the One Direction boys considered the performance entirely tasteless as compared to Swift's jab at the Grammy Awards. Yet, Harry Styles has nothing but love for the estranged ex-girlfriend.
"I thought her performance was really good - she looked great," said Styles in an interview with the Daily Mail right after the event.
Officially, Harry Styles joins the list of men Swift has written and sung all about. Good luck to the next guy who falls prey to this woman.
