Tea companies pursue Lady GaGa
Lady GaGa, who is well known for her love of tea, is the focus of a bidding race by companies who want the eccentric pop star to be the face of their hot drink.
The Alejandro singer is reportedly being sought by several major brands planning to make her their endorser.
English firm Twinings is so far the most determined to cut a deal with the 24-year-old star. The company has made a multi-million pound proposal to her management and has commissioned tea experts to brew a new oriental flavor especially for GaGa in hopes of gaining her fans and younger drinkers around the world.
"Her management have received a load of offers from major tea companies but Twinings are the frontrunners," a source told British newspaper The Sun.
"They want to launch a new tea with her face on it. Names like The Taste Of GaGa are being batted about. The idea is to have tasting sessions in which she would participate.
"The tasters are coming up with a tea with an oriental flavor. They want to market tea to a new, younger generation - particularly in America. GaGa is making drinking tea cool again."
Pictures of Lady GaGa, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, often show her sipping tea from her favorite cup and saucer set.
Rarely travelling anywhere without her tea set, she reportedly threw a huge tantrum when she lost the teacup last year.
